Sensei Matt Federico was born in Queens in March 1987 from there he moved to Bethpage in 1989. Matt attended Bethpage High School where he was on the honor roll. He is now in his 2nd year at Nassau Community College where he majors in psychology and is maintaining a 3.7 GPA. His hobbies include the Martial Arts, restoring cars, billiards, traveling and going to the gym. He attributes his 3.7 GPA and focused healthy living to the mental discipline he's learned in karate.
Sensei Federico started at Busto’s at 8 years old, achieving his adult black belt at 18 years old. As a Brown Belt, he won 1st place at the New York State Tournament in Weapons and Forms and also won 1st place at the US Open in Extreme Forms. For Matt, the great thing at Busto’s Karate is the harder he works, the more he learns, and the more gratified he becomes. Sensei Federico loves working with children, "they're fun and they constantly teach me, I love to watch the kids grow up, get better, and achieve their goals." Matt’s passion for martial arts stems from what it does for his self-esteem and confidence. Matt says he enjoys the effort it takes to constantly challenge his mind and body with the lessons that Martial Arts installs-- “I see this as a lifetime endeavor."
